Before Intravenous Anesthesia
- Patient must fast 6 hours prior to surgery (The patient may have clear liquids up to 2 hours prior.
- Patient must have ride to and from the office. The ride must remain in the office while surgery takes place.
- Patient must wear a short sleeve shirt.
Local Anesthesia
Numbing injection given in needed areas.
Nitrous Oxide and Local Anesthesia
Nitrous oxide gas is administered to give a relaxed awake state. Numbing injections are then given in needed areas.
General Anesthesia/ IV Sedation
Intravenous medications will be given to produce a semi conscious or unconscious condition. Following this form of anesthesia the patient must not drive or operate a vehicle or machinery for 24 hours following the surgery.
